The Development – Castle Park View

Simply Cleaning’s construction and site welfare cabin cleaning team spent nearly two days carrying out a deep clean to site cabins, for construction behemoth Bouygues UK.

Located near Bristol’s castle park, Bouygues site welfare cabins span three floors and is amongst the largest site welfare cabins that you could come across. Though, once you take a look into the project that they are working on at that location, you can understand why the need for such a large office and welfare cabin set-up.

Castle Park View – a fitting name for Bouygues latest development is situated adjacent to the site welfare cabins. This project is very much in the initial stage of construction and it’s no small feat, standing at 26 storeys once finished, this will become Bristol’s tallest residential tower.

The landmark 26-storey residential tower, set to be complete in 2020, will provide 375 new homes, comprising 300 one and two-bedroom private rented sector homes apartments and 75 affordable homes, spanning a gross internal floor area of 29,373m2.

Why a Deep Clean on Welfare Cabins is Important

The development, in the groundwork phase of construction at this time, had numerous groundworkers were working tirelessly setting the foundations. Muddy boots were a guarantee at this point, there is just no getting away from it, whatever was once outside in the ground would soon end up inside all over the floors…and in every nook and cranny.

Clean, sanitised offices and welfare cabins are important for the health and wellbeing of the sites management team and the subcontractors who work there each day.

It’s also mandatory that all building contractors provide basic amenities and ensure that the hygiene meets Health & Safety regulations – a key reason to have a deep clean carried our periodically on a sites welfare facilities.

A deep clean can:

  • Remove any bad odours
  • Provides a safe and hygienic environment
  • Help to prevent the spread of germs
  • Improves the working environment for staff  – mood and productivity may improve
  • Create a better impression for clients
  • Increases the lifespan of  carpets and upholstery

The Welfare Cabin Deep Clean Process

More than ten of our construction cleaning & site welfare cabin cleaning specialist spent a day deep cleaning Bouygues offices and welfare cabins at the Castle Park View development.

Starting from the upper, third floor where the contractors’ offices are located we started the deep clean process.

Every desk sanitised, all walls wiped and all floors scrubbed. The kitchen and all of the appliances had an extensive clean along with the toilets on the upper floor.

The first floor is where Bouygues site management team office is located, a large open plan office with a kitchen, male and female toilets, showers and meeting rooms. Every inch of the office was scrubbed and sanitised.

The office carpet went through a hot wash carpet clean using our specialist carpet cleaning equipment, this removes the deepest of ground-in dirt from the carpets with ease, and our special formulated deodoriser leaves the carpet smelling citrus fresh once complete.

The ground floor is where the trades would come and shelter, access changing facilities, toilets and place to take a break.

The ground floor consists of a large open canteen with tables and chairs and a kitchen area with microwaves, kettles and fridges. As you move through the large welfare unit you will find a large drying room (a heated room when the trades can dry their clothes), and at the very back are showers and toilet facilities.

The secure entrance is naturally found on the ground floor too, this can get quite dirty as it is the main entry point for all management and trades to access the welfare cabins. If the trades have come directly off the site, knee-deep in mud, you can only imagine the amount of dirt that has built up in this area.

Again, the security entrance had a thorough clean, desk, doors, walls, you name it, but the floor was given particular attention here. Using degreasers and other specialist floor cleaners to bring the life back into the floor once more.
